Day 1: Nairobi to Naro Moru
Leave Nairobi at 1pm arriving at Naro Moru River Lodge at 5pm. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Naro Moru to Chogoria Bandas
After breakfast leave at 7.30am for Meru town, arriving at Chogoria village at noon for lunch. Afterwards proceed to Chogoria Bandas through the bamboo forest at 2900m. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Chogoria Bandas to Mintos Hut
After breakfast leave at 7.30am towards rocky moorland. 21km walk which takes 6 hours, arriving at Mintos Hut. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Mintos Hut to Austrian Hut
After breakfast leave at 8am for Austrian Hut which is 8km away and takes 4 hours. Dinner and overnight at Austrian Hut at 4750m.
Day 5: Point Lenana
Wake at 5am, have tea and biscuits. Leave at 5.30am for the summit arriving at Point Lenana, 4985m, in time for sunrise. This is a 1.5km walk over a steep ridge with scree. Proceed down to Mackinder's Camp for full breakfast and then down to Met Station, 3050m, for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Met Station to Nairobi
After breakfast descend to Naro Moru Gate which is 2 hours away. Transfer back to Nairobi, arriving around 4pm.
